What is this garbage?
Would one wish to express themselves in the warm molasses of Internet inconsequentia, but is constrained by a lack of graphic talent on one side, and prose-enabling self-indulgence on the other, developing ways to communicate with economic word count requirements seems quite natural. No wonder, then, that it has been done BEFORE, AND SKILFULLY SO.
I am here collecting Breadcrumbs, which is my internal colloquialism for these, um, these things on this site. I do this because I believe they may be funny, or perhaps beautiful; they are certainly documentary in the shaping of a personality.
Some Breadcrumbs don’t have a point, at least not in the value system of jokes and punch lines. But I consider them valuable just for being oddball radicals of cognition. Hence, if there’s an instance where you don’t get the idea of one, worry not – That means I get to keep it!
Technical Notes
The Breadcrumbs are written in javascript, and embedded from external HTML sources to retain their formatting from any CSS corruption. That’s a bit dodgy, and if they don’t show in your browser, …huh. Get Firefox.
The fading animation I’m using was blatantly stolen from SWITCHONTHECODE. These people have thus done away with my need for Flash, and for this, I am eternally grateful.
Whatever happened to the old On Breadcrumbs?
Back in the day when I had more time and was more keen to reach Internet fame, I tried myself on a webcomic journal that was mainly characterised by my poor drawing skills. It contains a few punchlines that I find worth keeping; and the comic has a number of friends. Therefore it’s still available under THIS LINK. You might enjoy it.
